Celebrating Men Who Cook!
Men who cook? Most women will tell you they are rare and much appreciated! This Father’s Day weekend, Galt House Hotel and its RIVUE Restaurant and Lounge are taking part in an event celebrating those men who like spending time in the kitchen. The Derby City Tea Rose Foundation’s Men Who Cook tasting and competition is a fundraiser for the not-for-profit organization. Today, the Galt House Hotel’s LaMont Melson and Derby City Tea Rose Foundation’s Marie Walker teamed up to talk about the event on WHAS 11’s News at Noon.
40 cooks, both professional and amateurs will compete for the top title at the event, which will be chosen by the crowd. RIVUE will present a Pacific Rim Seafood Salad Melange on an edible Asian Spoon.
The tasting is $35 per person. It is at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 16.
The Derby City Tea Rose Foundation’s goal is to increase education, community empowerment and health awareness.
