Toby Keith Autographed Guitar Tops List of Items Up For Auction
A guitar, autographed by country music superstar Toby Keith tops the list of items in this year’s auction benefiting the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. The auction is part of the Galt House Hotel’s “Night of… One Race, One Winner, One Party” on May 5, 2012. The Derby night party is in its second year. Last year, $60,000 was raised for PDJF. This year, the goal is $100,000.
Along with the Toby Keith autographed guitar, an autographed Red Solo Cup will be on the auction block. Toby Keith’s light-hearted song “Red Solo Cup” is a top ten country hit and a YouTube favorite.
Party-goers will also have a chance to bid on one-of-a-kind Kentucky Derby memorabilia. That includes a jockey boot signed by the jockeys riding in the 138th Kentucky Derby.
The Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund was founded six years ago. PDJF provides financial assistance to some five dozen former jockeys who have suffered catastrophic on-track injuries. Many of them were injured in their 20’s and 30’s and face decades of living with a disability. Most of them suffer paralysis or brain injuries. Since its inception, PDJF has disbursed more than $3 million to permanently disabled jockeys.
The Night of… Party is Derby night from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. in the Galt House Hotel’s Grand Ballroom and Exhibit Hall (2nd Floor Suite Tower). Click here for more information.
