Thunder Over Louisville 2012 Just Two Months Away
It’s the kickoff to the Kentucky Derby Festival, and a fan favorite. Of course we’re talking about Thunder Over Louisville. This year, the largest fireworks show in the nation is set for April 21st– just two months away. And Thunder Over Louisville promises and even bigger Air Show during the day.
This year’s theme is “Star-Spangled Blast.” The patriotic show will blast-off with Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer as the Thundernator. The Kentucky-native is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was presented the Medal of Honor by President Obama in September 2011. Sgt. Meyer will provide the Thunder countdown and will activate the Thunder launch system sequence in the Command Center at the Galt House Hotel.
Every year, more than 700,000 thrill seekers flock to Louisville’s Waterfront to be part of the action. This year, you can get one of the best seats in the house, by booking a Waterfront Balcony Suite, RIVUE Tower Deluxe Room, or an Executive Suite in the SUITE Tower. Packages even include Friday night’s stay for a penny.
